PSP Fanboy reports that a release of the original Metal Gear Solid is going to be available for download on March 21st via PSN in Japan.

While I’m still jealous we aren’t getting this just yet (or if ever), we do have the Metal Gear Solid: Essential Collection expected to ship out today from EBgames.com. This should definitely hold the Metal Gearaholics until MGS4 comes out. Local Winnipeg EBgames stores still have no idea what I’m talking about.

   Why is this on AccessWinnipeg?

   Are you telling me that I should move to Japan so I can get MGS via the PSN?

   Or are you trying to make me sad by telling me that I -CANT- get it in Winnipeg?

   Here’s some other stuff you can’t get in Winnipeg: Cherry Coke, content from ComedyCentral.com, and about a bajillion products native to China and Japan.

   We’re gonna try and keep off topic posts to a minimum, but there will be some slow post days where off topic rants will come into place. Many of our bloggers have personal interests that we have agreed is OK to blog about on a limited basis.

   I do understand where you are coming from and thank for the feedback – a Winnipeg blog should focus on Winnipeg.

   I have creating many features on this blog to allow you view posts by category, also quickly view the latest 8 posts on the module to your right. The main thing about blogs is that not every post will be for everyone, and its just as easy to ignore or scroll down and move on the next Winnipeg-based topic.

   The Winnipeg Sun did a full front page article and 1 page insert on the iPhone last year when it was announced. There are times where the Sun or Freepress would have completely irrelevant world issues on its front page. The point is, its ok to go off topic at times – but we will keep it to a minimum.
