Dollar Wise Quality Cleaning has banned toxic solvents typically used in the dry cleaning process. The product, DrySolv is now in use at all four of Dollar Wise’s locations. Surprisingly, prices have not been increased since the change, and Dollar Wise offers some of the best rates in town.

They’ve been ahead of the game by retailing phosphate and carcinogen free laundry detergent for the past two years. I’ve only recently noticed these type of products spring up in SuperStore.

The Winnipeg Free Press has published a google map, outlining all current road closures in Winnipeg. What a great idea, however I have yet to see it again. I hope that it continues.

Road closures can always be found on the City of Winnipeg site, though it’s definitely not as snazzy as the google map.

That’s right, this Friday at Club Regent Casino, Deric Ruttan will be performing for free. The concert starts at 7PM and should include some of his hits ‘When You Come Around’ and ‘Unbeatable’.

Deric has also worked with Dierks Bentley who has already made it big, so this should be a great show to see.

You’ve already seen Winnipeg workers out in full force cleaning the streets, but that only reminds us of one thing. POTHOLES!!!

Potholes (or street swimming pools) are those massive holes on our crumbling streets that wreak havoc on our cars. While we can’t fix them ourselves and complaining about them is only so much fun, you can now head over to the City of Winnipeg’s Public Works website and place a request to have a pothole filled.

I wonder if I can place a request to have all the streets in Wolseley replaced.

A Rogers spokesman has announced that the iPhone will finally be coming to Canada. Not many details were released but it was confirmed that the phone would be released later this year on the rogers network.

Rogers will most likely be the exclusive distributer of the iPhone in Canada. I expect the phone to definitely be the 3G version of the iPhone promised by apple and not the current ones that are out now. So if your one of those scalpers reselling iPhones in Canada for a gazillion dollars - better start clearing them out cuz pretty soon everyone and their mothers will have a sexy new 3G iPhone 2 in Canada. Speaking of which, anyone wanna buy my iPhone?

Next Saturday, May 10th, all Winnipeg M&M Meat Shops locations will be throwing a BBQ. The BBQ is raise money for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Of Canada. This is M&M’s 20th year for the BBQ.

For the tiny donation of $2.50 you can enjoy your choice of a delicious M&M Meat Shops burger or hot dog, a bag of chips and a drink.

BBQ runs from 10am until 4pm.
