The Glow in the Dark Tour that is coming to Winnipeg on May 26 made its debut at Seattle on Wednesday. The concert is getting nothing but great reviews. Supposedly the stage setup is just amazing and it something for the history books!

More details have surfaced regarding the new Accommodation Tax (also known as the Hotel Tax) that was approved last year. The 5% tax fee will now be exempted under special circumstances.
- If you are visiting Winnipeg for medical treatment, you are not subject to the accommodation tax
- Campgrounds and Trailer Parks are exempt from the tax
- Bed and breakfasts with three rooms or less
- Hotels that charge $30 or less per night
- Anyone who stays in the same room for 30 nights or more
This should put some ease to the many angry hotel owners that were upset with the new tax. Though the new exemptions are not any benefit to major chains such as Canad Inns, it shows some hope that the city is willing to work on certain exemptions for certain cases.

City of Winnipeg is now requiring Disability permit holders to pay for parking. Apparently, they used to get it for free.
It was news to me. The laws never stated that the disabled received free parking, it was just that they couldn’t enforce the two hour grace period they received, which meant they had an unlimited grace period.
People are outraged. I’m outraged that they got free parking. Really, you get AWESOME parking spots, what more do you want. If you are unable to plug a meter or a paystation, I don’t think you need to be operating a car.
