The city will be adding “sharrows” or narrow lanes all over the city this year. It’s a huge step for cyclists and wanna be cyclists like me, who are afraid to travel on city streets.

The sharrows will be added to Higgins Ave, Roblin Blvd, Grant Ave, Regent Ave, Plessis Rd, Dakota St, and Dunkirk Dr. I heard that Transcona routes have been started, but I have yet to see anything on Grant.

Spring Taxi would like to add 100 more taxi’s to Winnipeg streets. Competitors argue that more taxis would “devastate” the industry.

What do you think? Do we need more taxi’s on the road?

International Trails Day is being celebrated this Saturday rain or shine (It looks like rain to me). It is being held at Northeast Pioneers Greenway which is at the corner of Chalmers and Raleigh from 10am to noon.

I’ve never personally attended International trails Day. Anyone have any experience? They are giving out healthy snacks and prizes, having a bike rodeo and a historical walk. (I didn’t realize East Kildonan was historic?)

For more information check out Winnipeg in Motion or Winnipeg Trails. Make sure to also stop by Canadian Tire to pick up a poncho.

I know this is stolen from somewhere very important to me, but it’s gotta be said (props to James Clinton Howell by the way). It is no trite assertion, that Video Games Live will easily go down as one of the most memorable nights for anyone who attended. I hope our contest winners enjoyed it!
