A storm looks like it’s heading for Winnipeg’s Richardson International Airport.  Looks like it’s going to be raining money… about 20 million dollars of it to be exact.

Winnipeg Airports Authority and Lakeview Management Inc. announced today that they will be building a new 20 million dollar luxury hotel at Winnipeg’s Richardson International Airport named The Grand Winnipeg Hotel. The hotel will start construction later this year and is expected to be completed by spring 2010.  Just in time for the opening of the airport’s new $585 million dollar terminal.

Jeff Dunham Tickets Originally uploaded by twofivethreetwo

Jeff Dunham, the “voice” of Walter, Peanut, Achmed and Melvin (that’s right, he’s a ventriloquist) is bringing his Spark of Insanity tour to Grand Forks and Fargo (and a few other places in the US, but these are within a few hours drive).

On July 31st (this Thursday) he will be at the Chester Fritz Auditorium, in Grand Forks, ND. He will be stopping off at the Fargo Civic Memorial Auditorium on August 8th (for those that don’t impulsively drive down to North Dakota on a whim).

Tickets are $43 at both venues and you can order them through TicketMaster’s website.

Hairspray Swag Originally uploaded by nathangibbs

Sorry, John Travolta won’t be dressed in drag for this live version of the successful summer blockbuster last year but it should still be a good time (gents, just have a few drinks beforehand and bring your lady friend). The show is on October 31st (great for those you don’t want to dress up…or who dress up and want to blend in) so you have plenty of time to build up the courage to go.

Tickets are already for sale on the TicketMaster website for $65. Seniors (or Youth-disabled) can sneak in for $58.50.
