2 weeks ago 6 inmates escaped from the Regina Provincial Correction Centre. 2 of the 6 were caught by Regina police immediately but 4 remained missing.

As expected, 2 of the 4 inmates still at large were found in Winnipeg and taken into custody. Preston Clarence Buffalocalf, 22, and Cody Dillon Keenatch, 19 were hiding out in an apartment complex at 29 Balmoral St. when Winnipeg’s Special Weapons And Tactics Unit took them down.

“One of them was arrested leaving a building, the second one was arrested after a search,” Winnipeg police Staff Sgt. Chris Beattie said Wednesday. “We received information and went out and nabbed them.”

Winnipeg Police setup a perimeter around the Balmoral St. apartment after receiving an anonymous phone tip. Keenatch was apprehended around 10 PM as he was leaving the building – he was not armed. The apartment complex would the be searched suite for suite until Buffalocalf was found hiding in a 5th floor suite at 1:30 AM.

The owner of the 5th floor suite had stated that his distant cousin, a young woman from Saskatchewan had came to his suite with a man believed to be Buffalocalf. The owner of the suite also stated that he over heard Buffalocalf on the phone stating that he knew who “Ratted Them Out”.

Arrangements are being made to transfer the two men back to the Regina Provincial Correction Centre.

2 of the 6 that escaped are still at large – Ryan John Agecoutay, 25 and Daniel Richard Wolfe, 32. Daniel Richard Wolfe is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder, he is also one of the founders of the Winnipeg based Indian Pose gang.
