MTS Launches HDTV and PVR in Winnipeg

MTS Allstream has finally launched its highly anticipated HDTV service in Winnipeg.

The service was first launched in Portage La Prairie but is now available to limited areas of Winnipeg with more areas becoming available throughout 2009.

Some HD Channels new to MTS include:
CTV HD
GlobalTV HD
HBO HD
Movie Central HD
RaptorsTV HD

MTS Allstream has also launched its PVR service for $5/month. MTS PVR service allows you to record all your favourite shows whenever you want. Take complete control over your TV viewing experience. The 160 GB hard drive allows you to record up to 120 hours of Digital TV or 25 hours of High-Definition programming.

   Only available in the south for now.
   MTS is government so it will be a slow roll.

   Made the call today and they gave me around ‘June’ as an expected time line for a rollout in my area.

   I also asked about my old HD box that i paid $200 for just a few months ago… and he said that i could have a good argument for a discounted service since i just upgraded to the hd box.

   Finally! HBO-HD, MovieCentralHD and CW-HD…. all the movies I want in HD, and SuperNatural in HD! Yahoo!
