Jersey Shore’s JWoww Coming to Winnipeg

Written By Stacey | No Comments
January 30, 2010

Jenni Farley aka JWoww from MTV’s Jersey Shore will NOT be coming to HiFi on January 23rd.  Instead she will be at Republic Nightclub on Saturday January 30th.

If you haven’t seen Jersey Shore, you are missing out on a pretty big craze. Personally I don’t think you are missing much more than a chance to lower your IQ.   JWoww seemed to be one of the more reasonable characters, that is until she threw a hissy fit and smacked The Situation. Honestly though, I would love to knock him out.

You can check out the facebook event here.

Shameless Self-Promotion: Winnipeg’s Funniest Person With a Day Job

Written By MikeG | 3 Comments

… Is me. I’ve taken time off from the glamorous life of an Access Winnipeg editor to grind away on the Winnipeg stand up comedy circuit. Last week all the years (months) of hard work bore some small growths one might call fruit: I won the Rumor’s Funniest Person With a Day Job competition. Here’s the video from my set that night. (Mild language disclaimer:I do drop some F bombs)

There you have it. Anyone who lol’d at the preceding clip can see me this Thursday at the Standard Tavern on Sherbrooke, it’ll be my first night hosting a show but I’ll still be doing about 10 minutes of material throughout the night. Entry I believe is 5$. Also on the last Tuesday of every month I do the Kings Head’s stand up comedy night, Shits and Giggles, part of their weekly Tuesday comedy series, The Free Laughs Comedy Series. Appropriately priced at FREE.

There will be two seatings 5-7pm and 7.30-9.30pm. There will also be a silent auction and live comedy.

You can pick your tickets up from D’Arcy’s A.R.C. at 730B Century St.  For additional information you can contact the shelter at 888-2266.

First off, ten bucks for all you can eat? Fantastic!  Second, you will be supporting an awesome cause.  You may or may not have heard, the found of D’Arcy’s has done some amazing things to fundraise.  You can check out his blog of biking across Canada here.
