Nude Airport Scanners Now at Winnipeg Airport

Written By Ken | 1 Comment

The controversial nude airport security scanners are now at Winnipeg’s James Richardson airport. However, the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority says they will only be used for US-bound passengers that have been flagged for secondary screening.

When you are flagged for secondary screening, you’ll have a choice between a physical search or a full body scan. Winnipeg travellers who aren’t US-bound do not need to worry about a full body scan but are still required to do a physical search if flagged for secondary screening.

If flagged for Secondary Screening, what would you prefer?

Play PS3 While You Wait For Your Flight

Written By Ken | No Comments

Visitors to the Hong Kong International Airport can now play PS3 while they wait for their flight. Hong Kong is the international bridge for almost all Asia flights, so most trips to Asia from Winnipeg will likely result in a stop over in Hong Kong. The average stop over/waiting time is 3-hours.

The Airport installed fourteen PS3 kiosks all FREE of charge. They will feature Final Fantasy XIII, Uncharted 2, Avatar, Assassin’s Creed 2 and Gran Turismo HD.

Maybe if we ask our friends at the new 2010 James Richardson International Airport real nicely, we might get a few of these too :)

Nude Aiport Scanners Coming to Winnipeg

Written By Ken | 3 Comments

Winnipeg’s James Richardson Airport is one of eight Canadian airports to get naked photos of all Winnipegers new x-rated security scanners. These scanners use millimeter wave technology and will allow airport security officials to see through your cloths as you walk by.

I have a feeling that the airport is going to see an increase in job applications. Better safe than sorry I guess. Heck, it beats a full hands-on body search. Above is an example of how the images will look like. The system will automatically blur your face to provide a small sense of privacy.

How It Works:
There is no radiation involved. It sends extremely high frequency (millimeter wave) radio frequency bands around your body that goes through cloths and creates a 3D image of what it finds.

How Do You Feel About the New Security Scanners?

  • It's an invasion of my privacy! (70%, 109 Votes)
  • I think its a great idea. (30%, 46 Votes)
