4play Sports Bar & Entertainment Zone

4play Sports Bar & Entertainment Zone plans to bring a touch of Las Vegas-style sports lounges to Winnipeg. You’ve been hearing all the radio ads and hype, but 4Play is finally ready to open its doors in March.

Formerly Blush Ultraclub and located just across MTS Centre, it plans to be Winnipeg’s location for all major sporting events. How great would it have been to have this for the Gold medal Olympic Hockey game!

The main floor will have a 24-foot projection screen and 100 theatre-style seats. The second floor will be a lounge with 3 golf simulators. The 24-foot screen will be the biggest of its kind in any Winnipeg lounge.

VIDEO: Halo Reach Multiplayer Beta

Above is the trailer for Halo Reach, the most anticipated video game of 2010. Bungie has officially released the trailer since it was leaked online.

The Multiplayer beta goes online May 3rd, 2010. The full game is expected to be released in September 2010.

Yes, I will be picking up a brand new 360 just for this game since my last one broke.

Manitoba Beer Prices Going Up

It might be a good time to restock the Beer Fridge! The Manitoba Manitoba Liquor Control Commission announced that on Monday, March 8, 2010 it will cost you an extra $1.25 for a 12-pack of beer.

This is the first beer price hike in 6 years but an increase is now necessary to cover supplier and vendor costs.

Despite the price hike, Manitoba will still have some of the cheapest beer prices in the Country.

Tickets range from $22.75 – $35.50. Last years Monster Jam was amazing and this should be just a great. Nothing better than watching cars get smashed up.

REMINDER: Clipse in Winnipeg Tonight

A reminder that Virginia Beach, Virginia-based hip hop duo Clipse will be performing at The Pyramid Cabaret tonight.

The group consists of brothers Malice (Gene Thornton) and Pusha T (Terrence Thornton) and are highly affiliated with Pharrell Williams and The Neptunes.

They broke out with their album Lord Willin’ which brought out some of the greatest club hits including Grindin and When The Last Time.

John Smith and Charlie Fettah are your hosts for the evening. Tickets are $25 and available at The Urban Bakery (TUB).

Iron Maiden Returning to Winnipeg

Apparently we showed Iron Maiden that Winnipeg can rock! They will be returning to MTS Centre on Wednesday, June 30, 2010. The show takes place the night before Canada Day, so it is going to be one crazy party.

The Final Frontier 2010 North American Tour that will promote their new album titled by the same name. The Final Frontier is expected to be released late Summer 2010. They are touring with special guests Dream Theatre but unfortunately they will not be able to make it to the Winnipeg show. It is the only show on the tour Dream Theater isn’t performing at. Iron Maiden was last in Winnipeg on June 9, 2008.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 13.

It will include the game and a WII Motion Plus addon that will make your WII Remote perform in real time and provide precision timing to your movements.

My favourite game in WII Sports Resort is the 3-point shootout. My current record is 26… but I’ll get that perfect 30 someday…
